Laurence Halsted is a double-Olympian, a fencer who achieved European medals as well helping to take the GB fencing programme from amateur to professional and qualify for an Olympics in the team event for the first time in the modern era.

He’s a former performance director for the Danish Fencing Federation and now Director of Mentoring at The True Athlete Project as well as a performance consultant and coach. This podcast turns into a fascinating conversation that evolves around topics such as mentoring, dealing with failure and doubt, life balance and the power of positive relationships, but we start with the idea of self-compassion.
