Time to take action
You will know my thoughts on the breakdown, particularly the judo (or crocodile) roll, if you already follow me on social media. I am a vocal critic of the issues with how the breakdown in the game is being played, refereed and coached, and I have shared my thoughts in a previous blog (The crocodile roll and the need for action) and discussed the issue with Nigel Owens on Brian Moore’s podcast (debate with Nigel starts at 40:32 on podcast).
Highlighting the issues on BT Sport
What’s the big deal?
My blog about The crocodile roll goes into more detail, but just check out this clip showing James Horwill’s injury as an example of the type of clean out (crocodile roll) I’m talking about in the professional game.
We need to do something about this now.
Decisions and action must be taken now by Word Rugby before serious injuries become the talking point. High profile coaches and players please speak out. Players at all levels, write on this thread if you have been injured by a croc or judo roll. I would very much appreciate your thoughts.
